 PUBLIC OPINION is becoming increasingly vocal on the issue of abortion as the February 11 referendum date approaches.
Demonstrators congregated outside the main court in Setúbal this week to protest against the current illegality of abortion in Portugal (pictured bottom left) and show their support of midwives accused of carrying out abortions in secret.
Meanwhile, in Coimbra, protesters against the legalisation of abortion awaited President Cavaco Silva at the inauguration of a new footbridge over the Rio Mondego (pictured above).
